Pastor J & Cory Toro
Lead Pastor
J Jason Toro and his wife Cory came to Gateway Church as Lead Pastor in December 2024. Prior to arriving in Ashtabula, Pastor J Pastored in Augusta Ga and traveled full time in Evangelism, with an emphasis on wholeness for the family and hope for the next generation. With a passionate desire to see people saved and transformed by the power of Jesus Christ, discipleship is the center of Pastor J’s heart and ministry.
Pastor J and Cory are blessed by their three amazing children: Timothy, Austin, and Trinity who joined their forever family shortly after birth, infusing them with joy and completing their family. The family has now grown adding two Daughters in Love Alex, Zoe, and four grandchildren, Amity, Daniel, Jiloh, and Micah. When he is not inspiring the church family from the pulpit, Pastor J enjoys spending time in the outdoors with his family, hunting, exploring, and ATV riding.
Lori Simon
Children's Ministry Leader
Lori is our children’s ministry leader and gives her all in supporting the children. Her heart is with these young people and she gives of herself week after week in servitude, assuring that these children know the love of Christ.
Lori and her husband Bryan are devoted members and have been serving Gateway for a very long time. Together they have 2 sons who are married, and 5 beautiful grandchildren.
Sherilyn Carlo
Office Manager
Sherilyn is a lifelong resident of Ohio, and is an active member of this congregation. It is her absolute pleasure to serve in the house of The Lord, and to help those in need.
Sherilyn has been a nurse for many years, but has also grown a great passion for ministry. She is a Licensed/Ordained Minister, and holds a Certificate of Ministry in Biblical Studies, as well as a Bachelor’s of Theology Degree from Christian Life School of Theology. She continues to pursue Christ and serve in this house.
